STRAWBERRY AND BANANA LACTATION SMOOTHIE!!!!
What an adventure breastfeeding has been. I was successful breastfeeding for 6 weeks with the help of expressing and nipple shields. When Weston reached his first big growth leap I felt discouraged and with lack of support and fear of failure with self doubt I started to top up with formula. Unfortunately I didn’t listen to what everyone on the Facebook chat groups said…and my supply really went down. 😦
So with the help of Pinterest I started to go “laction” mad…I made every recipe on the site. I purchased “Mothers Milk” tea and started to pump after feeds.
Slowly but surely my supply is going back up. And thanks to this yummy recipe it’s been a hard road back to fully breastfeeding but I’m not ready to give up. Weston just had his first 8 week immunisations so he is constantly at breast. We are also co-sleeping and he is slowly starting to sleep through the night now he is close to me. I find this really effective and started to study Attachment Parenting techniques I plan on using with Weston now and in the future.
I’m hoping with these yummy recipes and special bonding time my supply will go up in no time.
I started trying on nipple shields and now I don’t use them at all. I have faith that I will soon wean off the formula and stick to full breastfeeding.
Determination is all I need…and this yummy smoothie of course.
1 cup STRAWBERRIES
1/4 cup OATS
1 Tbs. PEANUT BUTTER
1 cup ALMOND MILK
INSTRUCTIONS ARE EASY.
Just blend in blender and ENJOY!
