Last week I hosted a beautiful baby shower and baby blessing for my friend Jos, who is expecting a baby girl this summer (Elowen).
When planning this party I wanted to incorporate many elements that my friend Jos that I knew she would love.
She’s a bit of a hippie gal and I knew how much the sentimental things meant to her. I wanted to make sure we had a vegan feast, fun games and activities that aligned with who she was as a mother. I was so happy with how this turned out. Her mother and mother in law helped me and this turned out to be such a beautiful afternoon!
We decided to go with a Bee theme to stay away from am uber uncomfortably girly theme. Opting for something more sweet and natural.
The favours each guest received was the cutest succulents from Lennie’s Plants Lowestoft – loved the hand-painted bees and customisation on each planter.
I simply made tags on http://www.Canva.com with the date of the shower along with a clever ” Watch Me Grow” title.
Beautiful balloons from Bubblegum Balloons which topped off the special touches.
Mama to Bee- The Tye Dying at the Creative station. We purchased a white vest, socks and onesies to tye dye for baby Elowen. How much more Hippie can you get?

Then the Mama to Bee had a baby blessing henna session with Nadia.
Jo’s mum, Kat owns a vegan cake business and made these adorable vegan cupcakes and cake for the shower. I love the golden bees and purple frosting. She’s so talented! And they taste super!
Speaking of food- we had the most delish vegan spread ever!
Vegan Grazing Board
We then played loads of fun games that included:
“DONT say Baby”- Easy game with play with things you already have around the house.
“Give each guest one of these clothespins to pin onto her shirt when she arrives at the shower. When you’re ready to begin the game, tell everyone they aren’t allowed to say the word “baby,” or they will forfeit their pin to the person who catches the mistake. The winner is the person with the greatest number of pins at the end of the party“.
“My Water Broke”- a fun Ice melting game perfect way cool cocktails and drinks!
“The night before the baby shower, fill an ice cube tray with plastic babies and fill it with water. Leave it in the freezer overnight in preparation for the baby shower.
When you’re ready to play, put an ice cube in each guest’s drink. The first person whose ice melts must shout “my water broke!” to win a prize. You could even make the game funnier by holding the ice cubes in your hands until they melt”.
“Baby Jeopardy” – A quiz game which splits the party into two teams.
