Checking in was very quick and easy – There are signs around the park making it easy to get to the activities at the Ranger Station and entertainment complex.
Checking out is super easy- all you have to do is drop your keys at reception. The park is huge located in very peaceful and surrounded by wildlife. Speaking of, one of the main attractions are the WILD DUCKS…in the park. We enjoyed feeding them (you can purchase duck feed from the tuck shop on the entertainment complex). Weston loved the ducks and has been repeating ‘bye-bye Ducks’ all week!
Wild Duck is also close to many attractions including Great Yarmouth and Gorleston beach, but you don’t have to leave the park to have a dip! Wild Duck has two pools, one indoor that features a kiddo splash zone and a water slide! Outside is a heated pool with a bordered off ‘deep end’ which is great for those new swimmers!
Near the indoor pool on the entertainment complex, they have a shop and restaurant/ bar with a LIVE LOUNGE that host the entertainers, shows and fun things for children to do. The majority of our time spent was in the arcade….which we ended up spending close to an amount I AM NOT PROUD of…but we won some great toys and had fun while doing so.
We ended up coming home with a race track, ‘Hungry, Hungry Frogs, Lion King murch and a Connect the Dots game from our winnings of about 6,000 tickets. Which proves that they have some great prizes available if you love playing in the arcades like us! Weston also became very, very good at the 2p machines…which kept him really entertained!
The restaurant, The Sitting Duck was reasonably priced and had great options for picky eaters. We enjoyed the fish and chips, spare ribs, mac and cheese and a HUGE dessert grazing board at the end of our first night. I fell in love with the Passiontinis and quick service. I loved that they had a lot of outdoor seating and a bigger kids jungle gym so parents could enjoy a drink while the kids played.
We thought the tuck shop was reasonably priced and a had all the things for a great stay, small toys for kids with many foods and drink options for your stay to take back to your accommodation. Drinks and snacks were your usual convenience prices but my favourite bit would have to be the supply of COSTA Coffee (THANK YOU).
The main bar/ LIVE LOUNGE was very spacious so it looked like you wouldn’t struggle for a seat even in peak times. We enjoyed the live wrestling show Saturday and popped in a few times during the mascot shows, but Weston wasn’t a fan of them…I did appreciate the music on the dance floor and space for the tots and kids to play and dance before and during shows.
There is a shaded wooded walk and also activities which take place in natures playground that featured education from the local ranger. It was nice that there were plenty of activities to do that was outside and also indoors.
All the staff were very pleasant – including the shop staff and made you feel very welcome -nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant team was great, and the first night I had an employee struggle to make my drink, but I really loved how Zara, the team leader helped the employee with patience and guidance. The drink was then delivered to my table with a big smile and I can’t fault the work ethic of everyone at this park. The second night at dinner we had a great server, tall and red hair with a beard- he was so entertaining and had a massive smile as he served..even if the queue was nearly out the door!
