We love staying with Hilton! When travelling often we tend to choose to commit to a brand we feel has the best benefits for families like ours. Feeling safe in our options knowing that we will receive a quality and a stay worthy of our money is important to us.
While travelling with children can be a bit hectic…to say the least, having a rewards programme or a way to save money on future purchases while travelling is an important step to take to make sure that you cut out the fuss and enjoy the place you are visiting.
On a recent trip to London for a business event, I wanted to bring my family along with, so that they may enjoy the city or relax at the hotel with me and enjoy the many amenities offered at the hotel. Staying at London Hilton Canary Wharf was a great opportunity to stay in a part of London we had yet to explore. Whether its the amazing restaurant that has a kids-eat-free menu, divine cocktails for mum and dad, or the special kiddy turn-down service. Staying at Hilton London – Canary Wharf was an excellent experience for us.
When we arrived we found out that we had been upgraded to a Junior King Suite and the staff then went on to tell me canapes were being served in the executive lounge just as we arrived!
After making it to our room we found chocolate-covered strawberries, fresh fizzy drinks and a bottle of champagne to enjoy as we settled down for a cosy movie night. Our bed was made up with rose petals and a display of love swans made of towels, along with a separate bed for our son that included his own set of toiletries and a fun Halloween-themed mask! We were given luxury robes to lounge around in, that included a smaller robe that fit my son perfectly.
The Junior King Suite we had bosted amazing views, glistened by high rises. We had an entertainment and lounge area with a large TV and a sectioned off bedroom with another large mounted TV to enjoy a film later that night in bed.
I headed to the executive lounge to see what they had on offer after settling in. The executive lounge only allows children 12 and up, as it wants to keep volume levels down for other guests, what is understandable. When I arrived I was greeted with a fun Gin tasting experience to try with my canapes before heading down the restaurant to meet with my husband and son for dinner and drinks.
When we arrived at the restaurant I began ordering our drinks, which ended up being a Cosmopolitan to compliment my sirloin steak dinner (which my husband ended up ordering as well). A great feature in the restaurant was the kids-eat-free menu which had plenty to choose from, however, my son was asking for a ‘Crabby Patty’ so I ordered him a beef burger and chips…a simple boy to please!
To finish off, I had an espresso martini and we shared a toffee sponge with vanilla ice cream.
Back in our room, we admired our views on London and the tall rises that surrounded us, we had decided to leave the curtains open to let the city -lights glow into our room as we opened the champagne, cuddled up in bed and put on a film.
After an excellent nights sleep, we promptly woke up and headed back down to the restaurant for our breakfast.
Now, an icon of Hilton has been the fun DIY waffle machines…and of course, this was our starter. After we had options of a cooked traditional English breakfast, cereals, bread, pastries, meats, cheese and even a yoghurt bar, which of course was all self-serving, in order to have as much as you like. A great addition was the fresh fruit squeezed on display near the table as you walk in. We always know Hilton has a quality and great breakfast options to start your adventures for the next day!
We were very impressed with our stay at Canary Wharf and glad we took the chance to explore the high-rise area of London. The hotel itself is impressive and we were absolutely blown away by the customer service, attention to detail and extra touches given for families with children.
We often choose to stay at Hilton and Hilton- DoubleTree locations around the world while traveling because we have found them always to be of top quality for general customer service, family-friendly atmosphere and location. This is why signing up for Hilton Honors is an absolute must-do for those who find themselves travelling often and wanting to get a few perks!
